A well-established and expanding Pharmacy in Hamilton is looking for a full-time Pharmacy assistant with excellent computer and customer service skills to join its team
Responsibilities and duties:
- Patient greeting and confirmation of accuracy of all prescription information prior to assissting the pharmacist
- Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions and preparing Blister packs
- Verify that customers receive correct prescriptions
- Collect statistics
- Stock items on shelves
- Check on expiration date and maitain usable inventory on the shelves
- Enter clients information and prescription details in data base
- Assist pharmacists and other pharmacy staff
- May process medical billing information
- Handle returns, recalls and follow up on credit issued by vendors
- Order, receive and maintain inventory of medications
- Review invoices and documentation related to supply chain
- Prepare and process billing claims, disbursements and related documents
- Maintain a clean and organized work space and dispensary
- Enter, scan and process prescriptions using the pharmacy dispensing software
- Screen telephone calls for the pharmacist and respond to customers inquires
- Knowledge to Provide services to clients to maintain and build organization and success
- Knowledge of displaying, promoting and selling products
- Prepare and deliver written, oral or visual material that presents information
- May bill third party insurance
- Accurate maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems
- Handling customer prescription pick up
- Assisting with cashier responsibilities as required
- Conduct online marketing
- Deliver goods to customers
- Perform other duties and tasks as required from time to time
Job Requirements:
- One year experience in Pharmacy premises is required.
- Two years of education after high school in pharmacy related studies
- Knowledge of MS office, MS word, MS excel
- Excellent communication skills in English both oral and written (IELTS / CELPIP)
- Knowledge of e-commerce and website promotion
- Sales and customer care skills
- Client service skills, strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, attentions to detail skills, processing information skills and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Nexysus software is an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
