Arrow's Log Towing Division is located in Adams Lake, BC. approximately 1 hour Northeast of Kamloops and is one of the most beautiful pristine lakes in Canada. Arrow's Log Towing Division tows logbooms on the lake to the Interfor Adam's Lake Sawmill. Adams Lake is virtually uninhabited and is situated very close to the famous Shuswap Lakes recreational area.
We are looking for a Boom Person to join our team and work primarily at the North end of Adams Lake.

Responsibilities:
The Boom Person will report to the Senior Boom person. This individual is responsible for sorting, stowing and building the log booms and log tows with the sidewinders and dozer boats. They will work to keep the booms and bundles organized and free of debris. The Boom Person will continuously be stepping on/off the boats to bundles and boom sticks. The Boom Person will also have some mechanical aptitude. This individual will be cross-trained as a Deckhand so that we can maintain the flexibility to respond to fluctuating workflows.
Job Duties include:

Sort bundles, building log booms and log tows.

Operate the sidewinders and dozer boats.

Keep inventory of boom sticks, boom chains, and swifter ropes.

Keep bundles and booms organized and free of unsafe debris.

Keep hand tools in good working condition.

Continuously step on/off boats to bundles and boom sticks.

Use of axes, peevee’s and pike poles.

Assist with making the log tows.

Inspect towing gear and lifesaving equipment.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies and regulations.

Other duties as assigned.
You Possess:
- Previous experience working in the booming industry is an asset

A valid Marine emergency duties (MEDs) or higher certification is an asset

A valid Small Vessel Machinery Operators (SVMO) certificate is an asset

Marine emergency first aid is an asset
