We have multiple internal divisions that handle furniture moving and interior contents, an abatement division for mold, lead, and asbestos , as well as a full-service flooring division that tackles flooring projects ranging in size from a laundry closet to a full new home build , as well as strata tenant improvements and commercial renovations. We also adeptly handle residential construction and renovations.
About Premium Restoration Flooring Division:
· We are a commercial/residential flooring contractor. We do not have a showroom, but two publicly accessible lower mainland locations with architect folders/ sample areas. We purchase materials wholesale directly from Beaulieu, Buckwold, Shaw, Shnier, Unifloor, Inhaus, Primco, Julian, Ames, C&S, TRC/Treeco, Eurotile, XL Flooring, Mohawk, etc.
· The projects we typically install flooring on are our insurance repairs, based on our relationships.
What we require for the position: Please read this part carefully, we kindly thank you for not applying if you do not meet and exceed both parameters
1. flooring + tile experience. Specifically, knowledge of Western Canadian Flooring wholesale suppliers’ products. You know hardwood, laminate, carpet, ceramic tile, vinyl plank/sheet product specifications and install methods. You have up-to-date knowledge of current products available.
2. Reasonably adept Microsoft office skills.Specifically writing estimates in excel, drafting documents in word, and sending emails including booking calendar appointments with project managers, installers, and customers.
That's most of it. If you have those two skills, then likely you've got the rest covered as well: Like estimating small jobsites for flooring installs, dealing with and overcoming customer objections i.e., sales and being the glue that holds the matrix of project manager/supplier/customer/sub trade installer all together!
You might be a flooring installer who wants to get off the tools, or currently work in an interior design studio/ flooring retail-wholesale supply and want to get out of the office or showroom and add some freedom and flexibility to your schedule.
This is a role that can grow in compensation depending on your capacity to handle projects correctly and efficiently. The main function will always be install coordination but you may also run your own projects start to finish as your capacity allows.
Flooring install coordination will be the majority and highest priority for your role.
You will be one of two members of the Flooring division team, answering to the Flooring Division Manager who tackles flooring projects from the front end, including initial visits to jobsites and helping customers with product selection, and estimates. While your role will involve some of this, the majority will be adeptly tackling everything involved on the backend, including drafting estimates, writing purchase orders for material suppliers as well as sub trade installers, coordinating the installation dates with the vendor, Installer, project manager, and client. You are a stickler for details with excellent communication skills.
A big part of this role is ensuring that proper amount of material and installer is booked at the correct rate and is ready and available for the date of install, and the install date is booked and available with all project shareholders (Premium PM/ client/ installer/ supplier)
Perks:
Sell your car! This job includes use of a company vehicle with gas card that you can use as your personal vehicle evenings and weekends. No worries on running around for typical weekend errands, all you have to do is cover the gas for personal road trips out of town. It's like getting a big raise! Taking it on a weeklong trip to Utah to go mountain biking might not be in the cards, but otherwise it's OK to use as a personal vehicle.
Location and hours flexibility Work from home, our Delta location, or Abbotsford location. The majority of this role requires only a cell signal and internet connection. It does require regular travel, and regular visits to the Delta location to meet with coworkers, get samples, receive materials, update/organize the sample area as it’s the current flooring hub for the company. In Delta you will have a private office or boardroom to use as needed.
Standard medical and dental coverage ,with an extra $750 per year beyond coverage to put towards other medical/ dental bills not covered or towards health and fitness equipment like a yoga class, bootcamp, kayak, bike, or set of skis!
Laptop and cell phone. Sure, you can use it for online shopping and calling/texting friends when you're not working :-)
Commission: quarterly commission paid out on any sales upgrades.
Paid vacation: two weeks plus option to use banked time as paid days off.
Great company spirit! Company barbecues, Christmas parties, lunches together, and office shenanigans (look out for Parm and her vintage bicycle horn) are how we work and play together at Premium. The job can be intense, fast paced, and sometimes stressful but we try to balance that with an equal measure of fun and laughs and believe that personal mental/ physical health and family are paramount . Happy, healthy, and heard people just do better work! It's science.
