THE OPPORTUNITY
We are recruiting for a Sales Representative, NA Cedar Branded Products to join our team in Vancouver, BC.
What You’ll Do: Responsible for selling a suite of cedar specialty and branded product lines for WFP’s retail and distribution segments in the North America market; ensuring maximum margin and returns for the business, while continuously nourishing the successful long-term relationships built with our strategic partner customer base.
Who You Are: Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, innovative, sales professional, who is passionate about providing value and knowledge to the market of wood products. You ideally bring a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience, in a senior sale role, selling Western Red Cedar, Appearance or Millwork product lines and you pride yourself on your exceptional customer service and relationship building skills.
Work Environment: This role is to be performed in person at our Vancouver Corporate Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Customer Service
-
Meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for allocated products and volumes by region and customer segment.

Creating a sales plan to execute efficiently on the cedar branded strategy for the salesperson’s region.

Undertaking market trips to visit selected customers on a quarterly basis, or as required.

Meet or ideally exceed baseline pricing per product line. The ‘Sales Representative – Cedar Branded Products’ will provide market feedback on pricing or changing dynamics in the marketplace.

Review the ‘Daily Sales List’ and ensure there are no errors, and that all sales are line with corporate sales policies.

Ensures the highest levels of customer service are provided, by working closely with the ‘Customer Service Representative’ to handle any required reporting on late shipments, or other service requests as required.

Assist in the execution of WFP’s corporate sales strategy.
Marketing & Market Analysis

Work with the ‘Director Marketing’s team to successfully promote WFP’s WRC Branded & Specialty products to the marketplace, while providing feedback and suggestions for improvements to Director of Marketing.

Ensure that our selected customers regionally, or by segment are promoting and branding WFP’s products through the channel to end users, retailers and pro-dealers.

Utilize a CRM system provided by the company to catalogue our customer eco-system, as well as to generate any lead information on new product or sale opportunities.

Compile and compare pertinent data on market segments, pricing, regions, customers, product lines and competing alternative product lines as required to help position WFP’s sales and marketing efforts.
Administrative

Ensuring policies, procedures, reporting and presentations are followed through and ensuring vacation coverage for their sales regions.

Attends daily sales meetings, along with supply control, logistics or credit meetings as required.

Follow up of all credit and credit-related tasks for setting new customers up, along with reviewing orders to ensure they are in compliance with available credit, and,

All Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
-
A degree in post-secondary education, or equivalent work experience
-
3-5 Years of work experience in a senior sales role selling Western Red Cedar, Appearance or Millwork product lines
-
Proficient use of LumberTrack and Excel is a strong asset

A lumber grading certificate is an asset
