Cabinet Wakefield is a shop located on the Gatineau river, ten minutes north of Wakefield, Quebec, an historic, bilingual, community-oriented village with a vibrant music and art scene (in normal times). Half an hour from Ottawa.
We typically perform residential and commercial cabinetmaking for discerning clients, and are looking to fill out our team.
Cabinetmaking positions available:
5-10 years’ experience as a professional cabinetmaker. Responsibilities and capabilities include:
· Read and understand blueprints;
· Operate and maintain all shop machinery;
· Experience with edge banders would be an asset;
· Experience with CNC machines would be an asset;
· Comfortable learning new software;
· Work unsupervised / supervise others.
· Take charge of projects in production and during installation;
· Teach and supervise less experienced members;
· Take responsibility for their own work;
· Communicate with team members (English or French);
· Physical fitness to load and unload plywood and finished pieces essential;
· Willing and able to work overtime;
· Must be punctual;
· Own transportation;
· Must be interested in full-time, long term employment.
Experienced apprentice / eager to learn labourer. Responsibilities and capabilities include:
· Mechanical aptitude / knowledge of hand tools;
· Eager to learn / advance;
· Must be able to read a tape measure (imperial);
· Must know a Phillips from a Robertson;
· Comfortable learning new software and electronic machinery;
· Physical fitness and endurance to perform all duties;
· Willing and able to work overtime;
· Must be punctual;
· Own transportation;
· Must be dedicated and career oriented – this is a full-time, long term position.

Salary: $18.00-$35.00 per hour
