We are seeking a Sr. System Administrator to join our BPA team in Mississauga.
The Sr. System Administrator is responsible for the Cloud & on-prem infrastructure solutions maintenance and administration of the network, servers, backup, Security, desktop systems, communication equipment installation and configuration of all applications deployed within the BPA and BPA clients IT environments
- Monitor & Maintain cloud and on-prem infrastructure solutions including ups, network, servers, storage, Windows/VMware platforms, backup services, patching/security updates, recovery/restoration of failed services, Azure cloud and office365.
- Respond & Interact with the People Corp IT teams, PM, help desk, vendors, and other teams to assist in project, System, Network & cloud outage, troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
- Perform day to day cloud & infrastructure administration tasks, including software and license renewal, managing cloud services and VMs, AD, DNS, DHCP, user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, general infrastructure and user support and other miscellaneous IT tasks,
- Management of user accounts for network, email, application system and configuration of access controls and review periodically accounts access permission according to security best practices and people Corp policies.
- Carry out scheduled server and related network equipment updates and maintenance tasks.
- Provide support for existing desktops and servers including responding to user problems, developing ad-hoc reports, recommending new procedures to solve problems, etc.
- Coordinate the implementation of new software and respective upgrades including testing for compliance to BPA IT environment.
- Work closely with IT manager to formulate project scope and system objectives. Project management responsibilities may include project planning, implementation, timing, and assistance with cost management, resource planning and technical documentations.
- Attend client meetings to provide technical guidance and/or explanations on technical issues pertaining to their area of responsibility.
- Liaise closely with various internal groups to communicate client priorities and concerns, resolve issues, and ensure on-time delivery of customized solutions. Propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Research and evaluate third party software solutions and/or work with software developers to meet user requirements.
- Other outage, project tasks and duties, as assigned.Monitor infrastructure and Support desktop hardware and application deployment.Perform system backups and disaster recovery tasks with regular testing of related procedures.
- Involved with the development and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Recommend and evaluate IT infrastructure solutions to meet business needs.
- Administer system monitoring software and respond to system alerts as required.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices, server, and desktop technologies, such as remote user access, multi-node networks including firewalls, networked printers, and photocopiers, etc.
- Ability to function well in a reactive mode, responding to technical problems with a sense of urgency as they arise.
- Ability to identify, articulate and troubleshoot technical problems under tight deadlines and turnaround requirements.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively deal with sensitive information.
