Summit Veterinary Pharmacy is seeking a new Representative to join our busy Business Development team in British Columbia.
Located in Aurora, Ontario, Summit has been supplying prescription compounded medications to veterinary clinics across Canada for over 20 years. Our mission is to set the standard for excellence in veterinary compounding; enabling veterinarians to fulfill their commitment to their clients' health and well-being.

Principle Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain customer relationships through customer focused call activity
- Develop and implement strategic territory business plans
- Maximize penetration within established corporate guidelines
- Maintain accurate reporting of call activity & customer profiles
- Provide head office with competitive intelligence
- Travel to industry trade shows as required (may be out of prescribed territory)
- Effectively manage territory operating expenses
- Ability to maintain an independent schedule with little to no supervision
- Identify key customer(s) and influencers in your territory
- Identify key territory issues
- Understand competitors and their impact within your territory
- Utilize all marketing promotion tools to maximize call effectiveness
- Adhere to values and culture of Summit
- Share ideas and best practices with the Rep team and colleagues
- Employ open and honest communication
- Focus on other customer-based projects as identified
- Complete other tasks as assigned by management
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing territory sales forecasts and market share targets
- Assist in developing promotional tools specific to compounding
Educational Requirements:
- Associates degree, Trade or Technical School Diploma
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Education and experience as a Veterinary Technician or a post-secondary degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
- Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or animal care sectors
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of small animal and equine health is an asset
- Experience as a Rep is an asset
Working Conditions:
- Physical Surroundings: Ability to work from a home office, when required. Ability to travel (flight, driving). May require sitting or standing for long periods of time.
- Adverse Working Conditions: Exposure to animals at the clinics
- Physical Effort: Sometimes standing or sitting for long periods of time. ex: driving, office work, trade shows, or client visits
- Domestic/International Travel: Domestic travel is required
- Must have their own vehicle in good working condition for in-territory travel. Potential travel to tradeshows, events & conferences outside of designated territory. Travel to Ontario for training and meetings is required
Hours of work:
- Hours are flexible; however, each rep is responsible for responding to their emails and phone calls from clients unless on a pre-booked vacation day. The company’s core hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
