A Cashier/Shop Assistant is an integral part of the team here AT JAYY'S CHEERS CONVENIENCE. In this position you will be responsible for the following:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY
- Greet and assist customers with a friendly and approachable attitude.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers.
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately.
- Ensure accuracy in handling cash, credit/debit card transactions, and change.
- Maintain product displays and ensure shelves are well-stocked.
- Assist in receiving and organizing incoming shipments.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping and mopping.
- Stay informed about the store's product offerings.
- Provide product recommendations and information to customers.
- Assist in promoting special offers or promotions.
- Adhere to store policies and procedures.
- Follow legal requirements related to age-restricted products (e.g., tobacco, lottery).
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Work collaboratively with other team members.
- Provide support during busy periods and help with store tasks as needed.
- Seek opportunities to enhance customer service and store efficiency.
- Share feedback and ideas for improving store operations with management.

- Enthusiastically greeting and cashing out customers
- Operating the OLG Lottery Terminal
- Managing the UPS Access Point, FedEx, and other package pick-up services
- Operating Pro Passport Photo (Capturing, printing, cutting and/or emailing passport photos)
- Operating the NowPrePay gift and phone card machine
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented store
- Adapting to new ways of serving customers

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Part-time hours: 20-35 per week
Salary: From $16.55 per hour
