Position Overview

The SMS Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Cloud based systems. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth functioning, reliability of these systems, providing technical support to end-users, and collaborating with other teams to optimize their usage. They will play a critical role in ensuring data accuracy, security, and privacy within the student management systems.

Responsibilities:

Manage and administer the organization's SaaS systems, ensuring their proper functioning, performance, and availability.
Monitor systems performance and troubleshoot technical issues, providing timely resolution to end-users and escalating complex problems when necessary.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to configure, customize, and integrate the systems to meet specific needs and requirements.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the student management systems, performing regular data backups and maintenance tasks.
Assist in the development and delivery of training and documentation for end-users to optimize their usage of the systems.
Stay up-to-date with system updates, patches, and new releases, implementing them in a timely and coordinated manner.
Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive student data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
Manage user access, permissions, and roles within the systems, following established security protocols.
Evaluate and recommend system enhancements, improvements, or third-party integrations to enhance functionality and user experience.
Collaborate with vendors and technical support teams to resolve system-related issues and implement system upgrades.

Technical Skills:

Proven experience in managing and administering SaaS systems or cloud-based platforms.
Strong knowledge of systems security management.
Proficiency in system configuration, customization, and integration techniques.
Familiarity with system monitoring tools and performance optimization strategies.
Experience with data backups, disaster recovery, and system maintenance procedures.
Understanding of data security and privacy principles, and experience implementing security measures.
Technical expertise in troubleshooting system issues and resolving user inquiries.

Presentation skills: Confident and methodical approach to creating clear, well-understood analysis, reports, and solution designs that can be acted upon.
Analytical and numerical skills: Ability to conduct data profiling and analysis, deriving accurate insights from technical numbers and translate it to a more understandable data.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills: Proactive in identifying and mitigating problems, understanding and articulating the impact of issues on the broader picture.

Relevant Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in SaaS Systems administrator or a related role.
Proven experience in developing and implementing Systems maintenance and heavy loads periods strategies and roadmaps.
Experience with cloud-based data architectures and technologies.
Experience in technical support, cloud-based systems administration.
Familiarity with Canvas or other learning management systems is preferred.
Experience in education or educational technology is a plus.
AWS certificate will be considered as a plus on your application.
