About You
You have exceptional communications skills and are goal oriented with a focus on results for the customer. You pride yourself on being a team player with a high level of ethics and integrity. You always have a keen attention to detail. You have also been a professional Geoscientist in the Oil & Gas or related industry and have prior experience with real-time local or regional seismic network data acquisition, management and analysis. You enjoy working with Seismology department sales, network deployments and best practices that can be leveraged to incorporate Seismic Monitoring Services turnkey solutions as a deliverable to traditional Seismology clients.
The Team
We are a Data Analysis Team working collaboratively with the Science, Operations and Sales teams. We are a high functioning team of passionate analysts that provide 24/7 state-of-the-art monitoring solutions to customers around the globe - striving to make our clients’ lives better.
The Role
-
Processing of seismic events using internal Analyst toolkits, to assist in high workload periods and to gain a working insight into the tools, workflows and challenges inherent in complex seismicity monitoring projects and datasets

Own and coordinate all aspects of the event QC/QA function including event QC metric, event review performance KPIs and any associated training and recommendations for the entire team of analysts

Generate technical reports and presentations for clients. Present processing results and lead technical discussions with clients

Daily review of automatically-detected seismic events for real-time seismic monitoring systems

Support research projects including internal tool development and expansion to meet the Analyst team needs to aid in processing efficiency, quality and scalability

Lead implementation and integration of new geophysical data processing techniques into client project workflows

Provide continuous feedback on Nanometrics data analysis tools and processes to drive bug fixes, design changes and usability improvements
What You Bring
-
BSc in Geophysics, Seismology, Physics or Engineering

1-3 years of experience in Geophysics, Seismology or related field

Prior experience with processing of surface microseismic data sets

Prior experience with seismic data processing techniques such as double difference relocation, velocity model building, STA/LTA triggering, template matching, beamforming, noise-reduction filtering, event magnitude computation, focal mechanism/moment tensor inversion and stress field inversion
