EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM ANALYST
RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC INNOVATION DIVISION
NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone to join our Research and Academic Innovation division as an Educational Technology System Analyst on our Experiential Learning and Faculty Development team.
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Education and Faculty Development, the Educational Technology System Analyst supports faculty and staff by providing technical expertise in the Learning Management System Moodle, supporting processes, system upgrades and updating resources.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Define and analyze requirements, develop computer code using coding languages, test compatibility and successful execution of Moodle, and maintain existing software and code in support of business requirements.

Research and create design documentation throughout the software lifecycle to ensure proper continuity.

Provide day-to-day operation of existing Moodle services, technical design, and implementation of new and enhanced services.

Follow best practices for IT service management within the framework of IT Governance Controls approved by the college.

Consult and collaborate with the Educational Technology Team in requests pertaining to user ease, technical components, and feasibility.

Evaluate and research plugin requests to determine value, security, usability, longevity, and value of investment.

Keep apprised and prepared for new Moodle and virtual classroom updates.

Communicate important information to Moodle users on a regular basis.

Test Moodle courses during annual Moodle upgrades.

Engage in project work to improve Moodle’s processes and documentation.

Evaluate user needs, impact, and changes for users.
WHAT YOU BRING
-
Degree or diploma in Information Technology related discipline such as Computing Science or Software Engineering, combined with years of experience in systems administration.

Experience working with Learner Management Systems (Moodle is preferred), and web conferencing tools (i.e., Blackboard Ultra or Microsoft Teams).

3+ years experience in a variety of technical roles - Operational IT Service Support, System Administrator, Technical analysis and design, or data security in a system administrator.

Strong analytical skills to evaluate business requirements and translate business objectives into technical requirements.

Excellent understanding and ability to learn rapidly to support new and existing applications and technologies.

SALARY: $2,007-$2,608 biweekly ($52,188-$67,804 annually) reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. This is a term position until June 15, 2024 with immediate access to our great benefit program.
