Position Overview:
Onyx-Fire Protection Services Inc. is the fastest growing full-service fire protection company and we are seeking an experienced Network/System Administrator to join our team! The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in managing complex IT infrastructures and possess strong expertise in VMWare, EDR/XDR tools, SIEM tool administration, Active Directory, Windows Server administration, and Office 365 administration. Possession of CCNA and CompTIA certifications would be considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities:
- VMWare Management: Maintain and administer virtualization environments using VMWare technologies. Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines, ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation.
- EDR/XDR Tools: Implement, configure, and manage Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) tools. Monitor and respond to security incidents and threats effectively.
- SIEM Administration: Oversee the administration of the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool. Monitor logs, analyze security events, and proactively respond to potential security breaches.
- Active Directory Management: Manage and maintain the Active Directory infrastructure. Create, modify, and manage user accounts, groups, and permissions. Ensure a secure and organized directory structure.
- Windows Server Administration: Handle the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Windows servers. Ensure servers are patched, updated, and optimized for performance and security.
- Office 365 Administration: Administer Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. Manage user accounts, licenses, and security settings.
- Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure optimal network operation. Collaborate with network engineers to optimize network infrastructure.
- Level 2 Support: Provide Level 2 technical support to address escalated issues from Level 1 support. Troubleshoot complex technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Security Best Practices: Implement and enforce security best practices across the IT infrastructure. Regularly update and patch systems to mitigate vulnerabilities and maintain compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures. Create technical documentation and guides as needed.
- Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities, including identifying, mitigating, and recovering from security incidents. Collaborate with the security team to develop incident response plans.
- Certifications: Maintain and update technical certifications, including CCNA and CompTIA certifications, to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Network/System Administrator.
- Strong expertise in VMWare virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in EDR/XDR tools and SIEM administration.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory management and Windows Server administration.
- Experience with Office 365 administration and cloud-based services.
- Good understanding of network monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA and CompTIA are a plus.
