Covered Bridge Potato Chip Company is looking for a dynamic, ambitious individual to join our well-established team of Direct to Store Distribution (DSD) Sales Representatives in the Halifax Region.
Role and Responsibilities
The DSD Sales Representative is the local face of Covered Bridge Chips to our convenience and grocery customers. In the Sales, Merchandising Associate position, your responsibilities will include assisting existing reps with merchandising, take over the route during vacations or absences, and other projects as needed for the HRM.
Because of the nature of the convenience and grocery store business, the hours of this role will vary, starting as early as 6:00 am to support the local sales reps on their routes. Average hours will be 35-40 per week, during busy seasons overtime may be available.
You must also be able to work alone completing assigned routes and tasks unsupervised in a correct and timely manner, such as basic in-store merchandising activities like organizing product shelving, rotating products, and keeping signage up-to-date, that highlights the CBPCC displays and presences in the HRM.
When providing relief for the DSD Sales Rep, you will be responsible for maintaining the paperwork for the route, including sales invoices and deposits, replying to calls and emails and ordering the needed inventory from the company warehouse to maintain the route.
Depending on need and ability, you may be asked to shadow and assist Nova Scotian reps outside of the HRM for special projects.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license
· High School Diploma or GED
· Previous retail or grocery sales experience preferred
· This is an active and physical role, successful candidates will need to be physically able to bend/squat/twist and stand repeatedly, lift and carry boxes of 10Lbs to 50lbs, and on rare occasions climb ladders to access retail back stock
· Personal vehicle will be required - compensated at .30 per km
· Legally allowed to work in Canada
Preferred Skills and Traits
Well organized, able to follow directions, and work independently. Ability to operate a large truck safely and confidently, following all instructions and traffic laws concerning vehicle operation and safety. Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and operate an iPhone for various functions. Clean and tidy (business casual attire) personal appearance is expected.

Salary: $16.50-$18.00 per hour
