The Water Process Engineer will be mainly responsible for application engineering/sales support; development of preliminary treatment process designs; and the overall development of technical and commercial offerings related to the Company’s treatment systems sales process. The location of the position is flexible, ideally situated near one of following office locations: Toronto (ON), Quebec (QC), Vista (CA), Calgary (AB), or Champlin (MN).

Day-to-day
-
Perform preliminary design of water treatment plants based on biological modeling and other accepted calculations in accordance with established criteria;

Collaborate closely with sales managers and engineering discipline teams;

Prepare budget, preliminary and final (bid) cost estimates including bill of materials, equipment, and controls;
-
Prepare formal proposals for submittal to potential clients;
-
Develop drawings of equipment and plant playouts as requested and oversee designers;
-
Create process drawings such as P&IDs and PFDs;
-
Select equipment (pumps, valves, membranes, screens, blowers, etc) for system designs;

Develop and present technical presentations/papers on in-house projects to promote our Company and technologies at conferences and client meetings;

Continuous investigation into improving design of current equipment and treatment processes, and development or acquisition of new equipment or processes to complement existing portfolio;

Prepare engineering documents such as functional descriptions, process control narratives, etc.;

Maintain an excellent working knowledge of state, provincial and federal regulations, as well as current design processes;

Maintain contact with current installations to obtain performance, operation and maintenance data and provide operational assistance as requested;

Development and adoption of standards in design to streamline engineering tasks;

Travel to project sites to provide expertise during start-up, commissioning and/or for troubleshooting at existing plants;

Other duties as assigned.
The profile we are looking for

A degree in chemical, environmental, civil or mechanical engineering or equivalent;

About five (5) years of experience in a similar position;

A background in membrane treatment;

The ability to work efficiently on multiple assignments simultaneously;

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (French an asset);
-
Familiarity with BioWin or GPS-X modeling software is an asset.
