Position Summary:
We are actively looking for a Lab Technician to join our Research Department at Nano One’s Innovation Hub in Burnaby, BC. This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals who thrive in an environment that requires adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). As a Lab Technician, you will primarily conduct systematic experiments and document results. Your contributions will be vital in advancing our materials synthesis, characterization, and evaluation initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Conduct various chemical characterizations, including but not limited to XRD, PSD, BET, TGA, etc.

Fabricate, assemble, and test electrochemical cells for performance and durability.

Receive samples from the scientific team and report back the data with proper documentation.

Conduct dry and wet chemistry experimental tasks by following established SOPs.

Assist the scientific team in the development or modification of the SOP documents.

Establish process/structure/function relationships for the commercialization of Nano One’s technology.

Learn to develop and adhere to lab safety practices and protocols.
Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED with demonstrated prior laboratory experience is the minimum requirement; however, an associate degree or diploma in a relevant STEM field, such as chemistry, physics, engineering, or materials science, is preferred.

Excellent organizational and written communication skills for meticulous documentation and reporting.

Prior hands-on experience with laboratory tools, apparatus, and analytical equipment is highly advantageous, demonstrating your ability to navigate and operate equipment effectively.

Proficiency or knowledge in electrochemistry and related characterization techniques is a valuable asset, contributing to a deeper understanding of our research objectives.
